Review of Daredevil (2003) by Andy G — 14 Feb 2016
Not sure why people hate on this movie. While there are some cheesy things in it, such as over choreographed fights and cgi (clearly inspired by the matrix), as well as the reliance on pop music over a proper score. I'd say the good outweighs the bad for the most part. Ben Affleck is great as Daredevil, which is why I always thought he was a great choice for Batman. Michael Clark Duncan defined Kingpin in such a way that had me worried for the MCU version, and the overall dark feel to the movie was done quite good. I do think overall the MCU version had less issues, and felt more believable, but this still stands on its own as a very good attempt at the character, especially the Director's Cut version of the film, which is significantly better than the original as well.
Personal Grade: A.
Technical Score: 71%.
