Review of Daredevil (2003) by Entertain Me O — 12 Sep 2013
For a film made a mere 10 years ago, Daredevil's film style and cliche superhero story have aged horribly after the coming of such films as the Dark Knight trilogy. Most of the story just feels cold, and about as cookie cutter for an action film as you can get.
Despite actually being married in real life, Affleck and Garner are low on chemistry, and the romantic scenes take up way too much screen time (and are also painful to watch). Sadly, the director felt the need to throw in just about every groan worthy catch phrase and uncomfortable joke that seemed to come to his head, bogging down the serious tone and sincerity.
He does, however, have good choice in music. Nothing memorable ever seems to stick, and between some serious plot holes and poor directing, Daredevil should have been retitled I-don't caredevil.
