Review of Daredevil (2003) by Adeena K — 21 Apr 2012
Time to give the Devil his due. Daredevil brings Marvel's comic to life in a fun and exciting action film. The story follows the vigilante Daredevil, as he fights to rid the streets of New York from the influences of the mysterious crime boss known as Kingpin.
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, and Michael Clarke Duncan all give good performances; especial Farrell, whose charisma nearly steals the film. In fact, all of the characters are well written and make for a good ensemble.
The film's tone is able to balance its comedic and dramatic elements, while adding in bits of humor to release the tension. Unfortunately, the CGI is underwhelming and ends up hurting the action scenes.
However, the music is exceptionally well used and is able to add a lot of energy and momentum to the film. Daredevil is immensely entertaining, and has a lot of strong action.
