Yes, this film did not have a million dollar budget, but the performances are strong. For viewers who were recently adolescent, the characters are close to home and not shallow. This is not a 'feel good teen movie' nor is is unrealistically tragic.
If you think this film is about sexuality, then you need to think harder.
