Review of Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959) by Austin G — 14 Sep 2007
A favorite of mine since childhood which holds up admirably under demanding analysis. An ingenious plot, acting of the highest caliber, special effects which appear seamless even by today's standards, moments of genuine terror, and a rich, beautiful score all mesh to form a film of such warmth and poignancy as would woo even the most calloused of hearts.
