Review of Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959) by Harvey D — 15 Mar 2010
A very young Sean Connery is in this. Charming Disney version of spirit lore including pooka, leprechaun, banshee, etc. You have to appreciate the selflessness of a father willing to die for his daughter.
He is able to outwit a leprechaun, but only for a short time. In return, the King leprechaun tricks him and saves his life. The special effects are laughable, but that was all that was available at the time.
