Review of Dante's Peak (1997) by Dennis C — 12 Feb 2009
Reminds me of my childhood this film and the reason I fell in love with cinema: over the top destructive special effects with chase sequences and tense moments. This film is by no means a classic, regardless of my sentimental attachment but it isn't the worst film on the block.
[This film included] In the films like this box (Armageddon, Volcano, Twister and The Day after Tomorrow) are examples of the kind of films I love. Seeing the destruction of famous landmarks as well as masses of people in peril.
This could mean I am sadistic but I think it's down to the "ride". And this film, Dante's Peak, definitely takes you for one of those.
