Review of Danny Collins (2015) by Cathy N — 19 Apr 2015
Al Pacino is perhaps one of very few actors that I would watch a movie no one has ever heard of. When you take a look at his main stream movies, and watch this man develop a character and make it his own, you have no doubt that he would be awesome in that role.
With little or no advertisement of this movie, I selected this movie because of the one and only Al Pacino, and I have to say, he did not disappoint. His supporting actors blew me away as well (Bobby Cannavale -stood out to me as he played it incredibly natural father, calm and yet sarcastically funny), Jennifer Garner -I always imagine her to be a real serious type of character, but her casual humor here played it real well.
I may look into her other comical movies now that I see here and Christopher Plummer - his sarcasm was impeccable). All of them showed a side in which I never knew they were able to. I guess I should my compliments to the writers- with the wrong words and delivery, I do not believe the movie would've been as wonderfully funny as it would have been.
Although I believe this movie require an acquired taste (mainly because the theater was filled with people ages between 40-60) it is definitely a movie people who enjoy.
