Review of Danny Collins (2015) by Nathan A — 08 Oct 2018
Danny Collins is a movie about an aging pot star who finds inspiration in an old letter from John Lennon and decides to change his life. He goes to New Jersey to meet the Sun he fathered many years before.
And begins an odd Romance with a hotel manager played by Annette Bening. Jennifer Garner plays his son's wife. And she's probably the only good thing in the movie. The rest of it plays like a movie of the week.
Or Lifetime movie. Low-stakes, and not a lot of true emotion. Many critics seem to love it. But it was hard to get through.
