Pedagogical fairy tale following the traditions of Up the Down Staircase (1967) where a new teacher takes up a class of children from difficult families. She successfully bribes them into studying. When one student gets shot, one goes on a maternity leave, and other two drop out, she almost gives up, but the remaining student urge her to stay and see them finish the school.

Heart-elevating fiction for those who haven't stopped believing in fairy tales.
