Review of Dangerous Liaisons (1988) by Vince F — 10 Jun 2008
Sorry, but this movie was a boring waste of time.
Having watched the other version Valmont certainly was a disservice to this one. I noticed how much more fun, entertaining and voluptuous that one was.
This one has has more of the icy and clinical demeanor that wasn't fun, or amusing, and all too depressing. I would think that if you were rich and enjoyed ruining peoples lives that you would do it with a sense of pride and pleasure. Take pride in your work.
Not the characters in this one though, it all too soon turns into a shouting match of pretentious dialog, at one point I was like "when did this become law and order?". Too much shouting does not equal intense drama.
Better luck next time.
