Review of Danger: Diabolik (1968) by Aidan H — 02 Jul 2007
When we showed this at the ZFK film club, the audience went crazy. The glorious sets, the technicolour, Marisa Mell's make-up, the costumes are all emblazoned on my mind's eye forever and my ears haven't been the same since I heard the insane Ennio Morricone soundtrack. Forget Barbarella, also by Mario Bava. This is the quintessential psychedic, sexy, 60's superhero film: anarchic, colourful and fetishisticly erotic. Who says terrorism ain't cool?
If you get a chance to see this, please keep it quiet because if they remake it, then you'll have to help me track down the producer and snap his neck.
