Review of Danger Close (2017) by Davidtrotter — 22 May 2017
Danger Close is a visceral, authentic documentary from the award-winning war reporter Alex Quade. The documentary follows Alex Quade’s journey to honor the request of a Gold Star family to see if the combat outpost built by their son, a fallen Green Beret named Robert Pirelli, still stands.
Quade captures amazing moments from the field, such as when the unit she is embedded with comes under fire from Al Qaeda forces, which gives a front row seat to experiences of our soldiers. These engaging moments were fascinating to watch and made me truly appreciate the bravery of our troops and reporters like Quade.
Danger Close is a great documentary that is worth the watch.
