Review of Dances with Wolves (1990) by Bill B — 23 Feb 2010
Brilliantly made film which benefits from an outstanding score, an excellent script and some very fine performances. Kevin Costners narration is frankly as stilted and emotionless as they come and while that hurts the film it doesn't ruin it.
Some of the direction is a little unusual but overall this is a truly outstanding western even 20 years after it was made.
