Review of Dances with Wolves (1990) by Jonathan B — 23 Dec 2010
*please note I am reviewing the extended cut of the film.
Usually long films can tend to be monotonous and tortorous, but that is not the case here. The film is a highly thought-provoking and entertaining film that emotionally engaged me to the first shot of the film to the last. Normally I don't care to much for film that are long, but here I didn't mind. In fact if anything, I thought the long runtime allowed for great character develoment and some great dramatic and tense scenes. Of course now that I've seen this film, I'll never be able to look at Avatar the same way again.
