Costner's career may have peaked early with this film. It won Best Picture (and he won Best Director) over Goodfellas and Ghost. A Big Screen" movie, fortunately, the size and clarity of TV screens now allows viewers to revel in the scope and cinematic beauty of this "epic" about the eradication of Native Americans in the 1800's.
