Review of Dances with Wolves (1990) by Jeffrey B — 19 Mar 2015

I can see why this movie won best picture besides just being pro native american. It reminds me a lot of the 60 and 70 sword and sandal epics. The hunting buffalo scene itself is pretty spectacular. This movie succeeds exceptionally at being exactly what you think it will be. Its all very well done with no surprises. Kudos to costner for doing so well at his directorial debut with such a large scale film.

I watched the long 4 hour version with did have 2 or 3 scenes that seemed worthless am im guessing got cut out of the "short" 3 hour version.
