Dances With Wolves is an engaging and well crafted movie. The story is interesting and the character development is very good. The cinematography is also great, with some beautiful shots of the plains.
Some parts are a bit cliché and predictable. Also, the pacing is too slow at times, this 3 hour epic easily could have been two and a half hours. Some of the dialogue got cheesy, but I got into this well acted movie and enjoyed it the whole way through.
It has great direction, good acting, and an interesting story. Dances With Wolves gets 4/5 stars (B+).
