Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by John S — 08 Jul 2008
Bjork proves she is as good a screen writer as a lyricist. This movie is Murphy's Law to the extreme. Every possible injustice that could be visited on the poor immigrant Selma occurs with no remorse or sympathy.
This movie does not build to its climax, but rather spirals out of control until its disasterous conclusion. A very depressing tear jerker that is worth every moment of the agony it puts you through.
