Review of Dancer in the Dark (2000) by Meifeng L — 10 Jan 2009
I have to wait for a few days after seeing the movie to come back and review this movie. It has been haunting me for a few nights. This is the second movie with enough weirdness that I wish I hadn't seen it.
The first one was "the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind". Like "sunshine", the movie goes back and forth between reality and fantasy (or mind), which leads you into a strange world.
The plot has some twists and turns, although the first half is kinda slow. But once you finish the first 30 mins, the rest of it is really breathtaking. And the coldest and warmest of the human nature is exposed as you wonder about the fate of the main character.
But just a little bit of a warning: this movie is not suitable for the fragile nerves.
