Review of Damnation Alley (1977) by Rhonda W — 15 Aug 2011
A post-apocalyptic saga which follows a group of military surviviors at an underground facility who set across the nuclear wasteland of america in hope of getting to Albany, NY, which they believe has been spared from the nuclear blasts.
Damnation Alley is a low budget film but what it lacks in budget it makes up for in creativity and heart. As the gang heads eastward in their special all-terrain land cruiser, which is a pretty fun vehicle creation, they battle gigantic scorpions, flesh eating cockroaches and a group of survivors who arent exactly welcoming.
Its not great but its enjoyable and it features an insanely young Jackie Earle Haley as a teenager who gets picked up along the way.
