Review of Damien - Omen II (1978) by Sarah W — 02 Jan 2008
Not as suspenseful as the original although it does have some good scares and some brilliantly elaborate death scenes (the doctor in the lift is particularly awesome). Jonathan Scott-Taylor is amazingly creepy as the titular Damien, now seven years older and discovering his true identity.
There's also a fantastic (if small) turn from Lance Henriksen. My main problem is that the characters who die are not fleshed out enough for you to really care. In most cases we are introduced to them no more than ten minutes before they snuff it.
Still a great sequel though.
