Review of Damien - Omen II (1978) by Danny R — 11 Nov 2008
A slightly disappointing sequel to the excellent original, which sees a teenage Damien now enrolled in military school, while under the care of his uncle, William Holden, and his slightly sinister aunt, Lee Grant.
The main drawback is that the kid playing Damien - Jonathan Scott-Taylor - really can't act at all, and his woodenness hamstrings the film. Some of the death scenes are a little hammy too. It's fun to see Lance Henriksen in an early supporting role, though, and Jerry Goldsmith's score is of course excellent.
