Review of Damien - Omen II (1978) by Penny O — 27 Oct 2007
Nothing like as good as the first in the series. Damien's powers have grown, but he is now almost too powerful - the people who oppose him drop far too swiftly, and after awhile you realise they stand no chance and stop caring.
The lack of a decent struggle for most of those victims and the non-subtlety of the deaths make it far less compelling than its predecessor. Ontop of all that much of the plot is exactly the same as the first film and little tension is allowed to build.
Disappointing all round.
