Review of Dallas Buyers Club (2013) by Karate C — 22 Apr 2014
Matthew McConaughey at his best! An inspiring story about a man's search for purpose and his fight against the odds. While the story itself is similar to many others out there, it was interesting to see a portrayal of an era when humanity (government and common people) was still struggling to understand and adapt to the HIV epidemic.
The movie doesn't ask for anything from the spectator in my opinion: there is no melodrama and no self-pity in it, no great mystery about what is going to happen next. That's what makes it stand out I guess from all the others with similar themes.
