Review of Dallas Buyers Club (2013) by Robin W — 01 Mar 2015
Never would've guessed Matthew McConaughey could pull off such a dramatic role but he definitely did. He still manages to be charismatic and funny, even though in the beginning his character is a pretty skeezy guy. I think that has to do with McConaughey's own natural Southern charm. But to me, Jared Leto completely steals the show. He is phenomenal as Rayon. Their friendship is surprisingly tender and sweet and the best scenes are when these two are on-screen together.
A very good, performance-driven film. Definitely worth the hype surrounding it.
