Accidentally or not, this movie shines a light on the opinion of mine that big drug companies conspire with the government to fuck over sick people. Drug companies don't make money on healthy people--they make money treating the sick. So, if the keep people sick, they can milk people for all they've got. If you disagree, you're wrong.
As for the movie itself, it really is McConaughey's best movie. He still plays himself, but it's himself as an anti-hero. It works brilliantly. The movie was worth the Oscar hype.
