I never thought I would be spending the weekend huddled up watching Matthew McConaughey, but I am glad the guy has found his stride. I went into the movie without any prior knowledge, so I felt a bit sheepish when I realized this was an adaptation of actual events.
That being said, apparently Woodroof's portrayal was a bit more brusque and homophobic than he actually was, but the producers made good use of their creative license.
