Review of Dallas Buyers Club (2013) by Oliver C — 30 Dec 2014
This is a fantastic film with a lot of the true story portrayed. Although this film does have fictional characters with their own fictional stories, they all fit in conjunction with the story without fictionalising it.
In my personal opinion this is the best film Mathew McConaughey has ever made. It is evident that he puts all his emotion and heart into making his character real allowing the audience to connect with him on a personal and emotional level.
I feel that because of McConaughey's Dallas origins he was an ideal casting for the role of Ron. This film has a great story line that flows with all the emotional ups and downs needed to grip and draw an audience into the story.
I really liked the fact that it is based on a true story that highlighted a lot of the homophobic and single mindedness of not only people but medical professionals during that era. I would highly recommend this film to anyone and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
