Oscar-winning actor McConaughy is indeed terrific as Ron, but the real eye-opening performance comes from Jared Leto who also won an Academy Award for his role as a drug-addicted gay transvestite named Rayon.

Playing any one of those three sides would be enough of a challenge for most actors to pull off believably, but he manages to roll them all together and thereby transcends the stunt to create a thoroughly memorable human being.

Film also wins the distinction for incorporating the funniest moment in a masturbation scene.
