Review of Dagon (2001) by Dan W — 22 Dec 2007
An interesting Spanish production based on Lovecraft's novel.
This movie has to be seen under the right point of view, relatively low budget, rather high consistency with the book (well, but instead of Insmouth, New England, the location has been moved to Galicia, north West of Spain -an stretch of coast known as "the death's coast-.
Few remarkable things:
1. Cool the Profounds speaking... Galician!
2. Francisco -Paco- Rabal fits perfectly his role as drunken-human villager.
3. Dagon should be very pleased with Raquel Meronyo (the guy's girlfriend)... wow, wow!
