Review of Daddy's Home (2014) by Shaun B — 17 Jan 2019

I actually enjoyed this movie. Daddy home brings the chemistry of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg to the big screen with this light hearted comedy. The casting for this film was great because without the funny humour made by Will and Mark this wouldn't be a good movie.

I loved the ending scene when John Cena came on because that was really funny. I wouldn't call this film a family movie but if they would of taken out the kids swearing, sex references and some of the strong language, then I would consider it an funny family film.

The racism in this movie went way to far because Griffs character (played by Hannibal Buress) always made racist comments e. g. When he got kicked out for doing the handiwork he thought it was about his skin colour, when it wasn't, and when Brad Whitaker said that they wouldn't call they son Griff, Griff then said that Griff was a black man's name.

There was this one scene that made me very uncomfortable, The Sperm Envy scene. This scene made me uncomfortable because it was very unnecessary for them to include this scene in the movie due to it being a 12.

This film has some very funny laughs and the performances by Will and Mark brought the humour to the film. My only problem with this movie is that the swearing went over the top, the Sperm Envy scene and the racist comments, but other than that, it is a funny movie that is both good and bad.
