Intriguing suspense thriller, made just a few years before Roe vs Wade, exposes the misogyny which lies beneath our glorification of motherhood. Carol White's performance as a young Englishwoman whose American dream turns into a nightmare seems to mirror her own downward spiral in Hollywood.
