I only found this through a Youtube video of John Prine and Iris Dement singing "In Spite of Ourselves," which he wrote for the end of the film (you have to stay until the absolutely final credits).

But what a find! And what a cast--Laura Dern, Diane Ladd (her real mother), Andy Griffith, Billy Bob Thornton with John Prine as his brother (!), Jim Varney, and great cameos with Jamie Lee Curtis and Ben Affleck.

You might think this is unbelievable--unless you're from the South. One of the best lines: Billy Bob talking to his wife about maybe driving to England someday--since they'd never been further east than St.

Louis.
