Review of Dabangg (2010) by Rahul M — 11 Sep 2010
I was afraid that the Arbaaz - Salman combination would reproduce something like Hello Brother. As it turned out, my fear was unfounded. The movie does have its not-so-classy moments.... after all it is set in rural India with a politician-criminal-cop nexus.
But the script was funny (well most if not all of it), the story kept moving forward and the performances were okay. Sonakshi Sinha was a pleasant surprise.... controlled and impactful. Recommended for those who have nowhere else to be on a weekend! Here's my question.
.... why couldn't Arbaaz get someone other than his wife for the item number? Surely finance was not a problem.
