Review of D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) by Christopher A — 29 Mar 2010
This one is kind of a letdown compared to the other two, but I guess you can't really raise the stakes once the team wins what passes for the Olympics (inter-galactic hockey?). There are some pluses though on the other movies: the coach pretty much calls out the team on all the crap and trick plays they have been using, which makes it much more believable (and legal) on the pure hockey side of things.
The plot is slightly better as well. However, there are also bogus moments, like Portman coming back JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME. It seems as if this should have been tightened and made into a first act of a better movie where the Ducks win more than an exhibition game.
Watchable, but not good.
