Review of D-Tox (2002) by Larry J — 22 Aug 2009
I almost want to call this Cobra on ice but Cobra was better. Stallone plays a cop whose girlfriend is brutally murdered as he investigates a series of cop murders. Hitting bottom he signs into a clinic for former cops.
Of course the psychotic cop killer is also there so Stallone investigates as each one is eliminated. It was disappointing that the viewer is never really given a chance to know any of the other people in the facility.
You're shown just enough information to wonder which one is the killer but not enough to know why they are there. The scenes outside are basically useless as a snowstorm prevents you from actually seeing anything except for figures in winter parkas.
I was also hoping there would be more scenes with Charles S. Dutton. Still it is a Stallone movie and if you like his previous movies where he plays a cop then you'll find this one to be no worse and no better than the others.
