Review of Cyrus (2010) by Ruhan R — 10 Nov 2011
I think this was John C. Reilly's best role yet. He really just embraced the fact that he's an ugly bastard and went to work with it. Cyrus proved to be a strong picture, featuring an emotion-based plot regarding trust and relationships.
Reilly, Jonah Hill and Marisa Tomei all put on great performances, executing their roles professionally. The dialogue was solid and the interactions between the characters felt quite real. The second half of the movie got really intense as tensions between John and Cyrus elevated.
Overall this film was highly entertaining with it's brands of comedy and drama. The Duplass brothers did well.
