Review of Cyrus (2010) by Mike G — 30 Jan 2011

Boring mumblecore for the most part that had pretty low entertainment value for me. It has plenty of weird, awkward, long moments, but nothing much comes of it. Recasted and redirected it might have been a much different movie, but there'd still be little to like I think.

I like John C. Reilly just fine and he can really act, but this is sort of minor effort for him. Jonah Hill attempts to play a different sort of role than his usual with mixed results. Cyrus turns out to be just an insecure, emotionally immature douche bag as it turns out and any really suspense is quickly fizzled out.

Anyways, yawn......
