Review of Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) by Cynthia J — 27 Aug 2006
OK, well I first heard of Cyrano in the excellent DOminique Demers's book "Ta voix dans la nuit". My French class teacher recommended me the book of the PLAY Cyrano de Bergerac, so I was curious and I rented it.
At first the awkward words turned me off, but after a couple of times reading it, I went totally crazy for Edmond Rostand's poetry (he's the guy who wrote the play). They cut a lot of good lines in this movie, but STILL -- it's TOTALLY worth seeing it! My sister saw it for the first time before reading the play, but she loved it! She didn't like the book, though.
