Review of Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) by Lee T — 20 Aug 2007
Was there really a man more suitable to portray Cyrano de Bergerac than Gerard Depardieu? That said - Rappeneau's version of the story is not only good... it is miraculous. A stylish, funny, heartbreaking, and simply perfect feast for the eyes, and the ears, and the heart.
Depardieu is beyond incredible as the character that, big nosed or not, any woman wouldn't die to have whispering to her from a balcony. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.
