Cyrano de Bergerac is one of my favorite plays. One's got to watch the movie or read the play in French to truly appreciate the beauty of this magnificent piece of gem. This cinematic rendition of the play lives up to the standard of the original masterpiece.
The movie is sweet without being cloysome, endearingly romantic, tastefully humorous, and extremely well acted. Gerard Depardieu is Cyrano! This is definitely one of the best movies ever made. Highly recommended!
