Review of Cyberbully (2011) by Lydia A — 26 Apr 2017
So accurate to real life!!! I'm in high school, and almost the exact same thing happens to a lot of kids I know. People get called names all the time on the internet, and it can be completely life ruining.
Aside from blocking mean people, deleting negative comments, laughing off insults, deleting social media accounts that attract trolls, not responding to bullies, avoiding use of the internet, and closing the computer, there is nothing a person can do to escape cyberbullying.
I can relate to Taylor. When I was 15, I accepted a friend request from an anonymous stranger, and he called me a slut. It really hurt my feelings, so I tried to kill myself, but my mom came home before I could figure out how to open the box of razorblades.
Taylor's experience with cyberbullying reminds me that my struggle is legitimate. Words really can hurt. That's why I'm joining the fight against cyberbullying. I call my senator every day to ask him to make laws preventing people from hurting other people's feelings on the internet.
These regulations on the first amendment can save millions of lives.
