Review of Cutthroat Island (1995) by Sergel C — 05 Nov 2011

I can remember really wanting to see this when I was a kid, and then hearing all the bad reviews and deciding I'd want and rent it when it was released. Then, I just never got around to renting it, for all these years.

Having finally watched it, I'm not quite sure why it got such terrible reviews. It's nothing spectacular, and the cheese factor is high, but what do you expect from a pirate movie? I can't say I was at all surprised by what I saw, and the story is pretty predictable, but it's a fun, lighthearted adventure, and I don't see anything wrong with that.
