Review of Cutter's Way (1981) by Max H — 19 Sep 2007
Really enjoyed this. John Heard is astounding as the bearded, alcoholic veteran. He dominates the movie. The girl, can't remember her name is fantastic as well. She starts the film looking pretty wretched and ill and becomes more and more beautiful as the film delves deeper into her character.
Overall, it's slow and there's lots of mumbling, but the desperation of the characters and mood of the piece are hugely powerful.
