Review of Cutie and the Boxer (2013) by Craig D — 23 Feb 2014
A profound and captivating portrait of the love/hate relationship shared between two Japanese artists living in New York. Sure we explore their lives, their relationship, but above all, I really enjoyed exploring their distinct viewpoints in art.
The narrative is interesting and unique(I hate the word quirky!) yet remains lucid and fluent throughout the whole film. In all honesty, enough good can´t be said about the photography, elegant and inspired.
Bottom line, the most compelling documentary I´ve seen since Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
