There are so many things wrong with the movie. The acting is great, I love Christian, but the problem is more in the script. Mallory (Julianne) does SO many things wrong. She would have been out of the car in no time if she just cut the upholstery. When the cop is nearby, she honks twice, and then stops making any loud sounds for the sake of screaming to a man who is several yards away in the middle of a downpour. It's proven again and again that the car still works, so she should have been turning the headlights on to get attention. Instead of pocketing all her essentials as the flood began, she intentionally threw everything aside to leave herself helpless. She made the effort to go to the same cabin as her attacker, when he had stated multiple times that he was there, and instead of turning around and going back, or walking away from the house, she consciously chooses to go into the house.

On top of that, it's barely explained WHY she wants to skip out on the wedding to begin with. All we know is that for SOME REASON, she's clearly unhappy with her engagement, but is trying to hide it. She doesn't discover his flaws on screen until she's already having problems with him.

There are several inconsistencies with this movie, and the script writer seems to have no knowledge of how these things would actually work.

For example, two days after being trapped upside-down in her truck, she turns on the car and the heater, in order to stay warm. In reality, if the engine is not warm, there would be no heat. One night, we see her covered in ants, but then we never see the ants again. She eats a small portion of a rat, tosses the rest out just outside the window, and then 2 or 3 nights later, the rat is still in the same condition it was when she killed it with no ants or maggots to be found. She starts a fire, it's out by morning, starts another fire, and it's out by morning. You could argue she was just making it for warmth, but what about the logs holding the door shut? She should have been burning them to free herself.

Pretty much everything bad that happens to her, or everything that fails to turn out good for her, is her own fault, by action or inaction.
