Review of Curtains (1983) by Adam P — 11 Jan 2008
Whilst a little slow in places, Curtains has a wonderfully sadistic premise that works well most of the time. It's quite difficult to tell which character is which and most of them suffer from a lack of development but the scare tactics are superb, featuring one of the most original and shocking stalk sequences ever filmed.
The movie has a distinctly bleak atmosphere and the identity of the killer is suitably shrouded in mystery until the end. When all was revealed, I for one was surprised. Featuring some nasty death scenes, a few scary moments and a fun last shot this movie demands your respect as one of the better slashers.
