Review of Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) by Clark S — 17 Jun 2008
An absolutley fantastic film that has everything. Beautiful colour, wonderful shots, goregeous cinematography, an enticing narrative with many intriguing multiple strands and enough genre reverse conventions to make this seem fresh and exciting.
Many chinese films lose some of there prominance in translation a minute few flourish. This is in that small category, forget the likes of crouching tiger hidden dragon, this is one of the best insights into how fantastic chinese cinema can be.
