Review of Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) by Alan N — 11 Feb 2009

Amazing visually with colorful, vast sets and meticulously made costumes this film delivers. Excellent acting by Fat and Li and a very engaging story. The film alters pace perhaps for effect though an almost drawing-out of things and near grinding halt toward the end lost me.

The extra features give more background about the story being based on historical account of the Tang Dynasty and translation to film from a popular play.
